Spinmade develops, manufactures and sells knot tying tools. The tool makes a fishing knot into the fishing line without craftmanship or knowhow of the knots. Spinmade sells the products to the distributors of sports fishing industry and directly to the consumers via internet. Spinmade was established in 2006.

Spinmade was founded by six Finnish guys in April 2006. Tero Liimatainen had a vision of a good knot tying tool. He wanted to have one. Tero couldn´t find anything up to his expectations in the fishing tackle market. He told about the product idea to his friend Samuli Orko who bought the idea instantly. Orko did not like the hassle with the fishing lines at all. He took the challenge to seek for the solution. Not an aid - the solution. Knot tying had to be made faster, easier and more consistent. After learning most of the ways that just don´t work through trial and error he raised a question about the fishing monofilament: what is the nature of it? Soon after he learned the basic principles of Click2Knot and what needs be done. Orko built the first prototype of Spinmade "stick2knot" which created an overhand knot.

Tero and Samuli filed the patent application in 2005. They were lucky or smart enough to get surrounded by great design and industry professionals. The design & manufacturing company Diretto´s Lasmo brothers, Boco design's owner industrial designer Jukka Enäjärvi and former executive of Rapala-VMC Pekka Kotiaho joined their forces and Spinmade was founded.

Since the early days, Spinmade had a strong support from the Finnish government represented by Keksintösäätiö, TEKES and TE-Keskus. In 2007 Spinmade was chosen to the Born Global program supported by Technopolis Ventures and Tekes. Harmada Invest Oy invested in Spinmade together with the former owners of Spinmade.

After 2 years of R&D and industrialization work the first Click2Knot device was introduced to the fishermen of the world. 2008 Spinmade Click2knot was nominated Europe´s finest - best new accessory! The Prize was given at the Europe´s largest fishing tackle trade exhibition EFTTEX in Rome, Italy. After that Click2Knot received the most valued prize of the Salon Européen des Pêches en Mer de Nantes show in France also. An easy to use uni-knot tying tool is now available for everyone. Manufacturing is situated in Finland.
